Australia’s largest streetball tournament, Summer Jam, is heading West this January.
Australia’s largest outdoor basketball tournament, Summer Jam, is heading to Perth on January 15. Presented by House of Hoops and brought to Perth by 2WAY, the WA-based team behind Sneakerland, this is the first time ever that Summer Jam will be held outside of Melbourne, at McCallum Park in Victoria Park.
After a COVID-induced hiatus, world renowned brands are aligning to bring back the largest basketball festival in Australia in a big way to mark its 10-year-anniversary. Summer Jam is where big plays are celebrated instantly, light fouls are brushed off and baller legends such as Deng Adel (NBA), Kuany Kuany (NBL) and Ben Ayre (NBL) are born. Perth’s best pro-amateur players will be invited to compete for a national championship, the chance of winning the cash prize of $5,000, the opportunity to compete in Melbourne, and the chance to compete on the world’s stage at the Red Bull Half Court World Final in Egypt.
The original Prahran Summer Jam is now a globally recognised destination for Streetball, with the annual tournament being centre stage for the new wave of athletes. Summer Jam brings together athletes, artists, creatives and the general community as a celebration of summer and the culture of basketball in Australia, whilst also offering the best elements of a summer street party – open air bars, food trucks, live music and more.
The festival will include:
Full Court tournament – 5v5 competition with cash prizes of $5,000 for winner
RedBull Half Court tournament – 3v3 competition, with cash prizes and the opportunity to fly to Egypt for the RedBull Half Court World Final
Slam-Dunk competition
