Here’s your Ultimate Guide to best enjoy Fringe 2021

It is the biggest and most popular annual festival happening in Perth. Being a multi-arts celebration, this massive festival has everything for everyone and there’s no way you’ll feel left out. Whether you’re into comedy, parties, sports, or music, there will always be an event and destination for you, there’s so much to choose from! It may be overwhelming with so little time left, but don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. Here’s your ultimate Perth Fringe guide:

Comedy Lounge | Upstairs 413 Murray St, Perth, WA, Australia 6000

Hit up the Comedy Lounge for high quality, belly-aching laughs. Whether it’s a weekly stand-up comedy or their gala theatre events, their shows will be sure to tickle you and bring you to tears.

If you’re into belting out waves of laughter for the Fringe World Festival, the Comedy Lounge events are a must to check out. The club has numerous dates for you to check out their event, Best of Fest which will run until the last day of the Fringe Festival. Every week, there will be a new lineup, so there will always be a new act to look forward to.

If you’re curious how a comedy battle between rappers and comedians will turn out, their Comedy vs Rappers show is set on until February 13.

Other events coming from Comedy Lounge that you might be interested in include The Gong Show and Monday Like It’s Friday.

The Woodside Pleasure Garden | Russell Square Northbridge, WA, 6003

If Fringe World Festival means an opportunity for you to spend quality time with your family, say no more – The Woodside Pleasure Garden is not named Perth’s Fringe playground for nothing.

For your little dreamers (and for the young at heart you), the FRINGE WORLD’s iconic mermaid pod will fill in the Splash Zone daily at 3:40 PM throughout Fringe World. And, because it’s the festival, there’ll be extra sessions running at 5:30 PM until 31st of January.

To add a bit of extra magic to your family day, you can also bring in the whole family to watch The Greatest Magic Show and witness some internationally acclaimed whimsical wonders. If you’re still looking for the time to set the date, or if you want to rewatch the show, they’ll be up until February 14.

To continue with the cirque theme, there’ll also be tons of acrobatic shows as part of your Family Rave Day live in the garden.

YMCA HQ | 60A Frame Court, WA, Perth, Australia

To continue your search for a family-friendly event where you can bring your kids to have fun, you should absolutely check out YMCA HQ, Perth’s hub for Arts, Live Music, and Performances.

YMCA is the perfect location where your kids can go dancing along with musical storytelling sessions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

On Friday, February 5, YMCA HQ will also be bringing to you the best in up and coming young bands including Mia June (band), Mitch Santiago, Jac Donnelly, Sixth Avenue, and Juliette Elizabeth. Tickets are $10 and the door will be open from 6 PM.

Western Australian Dragon Boat Festival | Mews Rd, Fremantle, WA, Australia

Coinciding with Fringe Festival, the Western Australian Dragon Festival will be hosting the celebration of both festivals. With Racing Program, Wadumbah Dance Group, and even Lion Dance Performances, the iconic Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour will be a spectacular destination for an atmosphere of pageantry and color during the Fringe World Festival.

Be at the venue Sunday, February 7 from 10 AM to 7 PM and witness the beating of the boat drums, the awakening of the Dragon, its entrance, and its grand dance at the end.

The Underground | Elysian Creative | Girls School

Don’t end the Fringe Festival without a party vibe of a dance show. As Elysian Creative makes its debut Fringe World Festival performance, The Underground, expect an electrifying Latin-RnB dance show heating up the dance floor starting on January 27 until February 3.

Get captivated by Perth’s best talents all in one room – dancing with the live percussions, singing with hypnotizing vocals. What better way to celebrate arts this annual festival than celebrate talent?
